Handmade Nepalese/British Military Gurkha Issue Kukri Fighting & Survival knife (10 inch Blade)
This kukri is made by hand by expert kukri Bladesmiths in Nepal at Khukuri Nepal (KHukuri Craft Pvt. Ltd. Nepal)
This is the “standard size kukri” (khukuri) that is carried by the Nepalese Gurkha soldiers, and Gurkha “Security Contractors” around the world.
Referred to as the “Service No. 1” model. The Kukri is officially issued to Gurkhas in UK upon completion of their selection and training. The khukuri (kukri) is a prized possession of all British Gurkha soldiers. It is carried by them throughout their army life and is a central part of the identity as warriors. They are inspected regularly by an officer, thier kukri is usually used during Parade and Duty. It has two pockets on the back of the scabbard that holds a blunt steel called “Karda and chakmak”. One is the sharpener which is used to care for the edge of the blade & the other is used for administrative tasks. The notch (kaudi) in the blade near the hilt of most khukuris was designed to keep blood from running down on your hand and making your grip slippery…
It also serves as a device for catching and neutralizing and enemy blade… pretty cool!

Polished and made of leaf springs from a truck. 5160 high Carbon Steal and Carefully balance tempered (which is one of the most important points)
-It has a 5 inches “Rat tail” Handle covered in water buffalo horn. The way they were originally made for superior balance.
-Blade width at the belly is approximately 1.85 inches or (47 Millimeters)
-The Blade thickness in spine is between 0.31 inches to 0.35 inches or (8 to 9 millimeters)
-The blades edge is hardened to between 58-60 RC.
-Comes with a sharpener and a small knife called the “karda” and “Chakmak in Nepalese.
-Also comes with handmade Scabbard made out of Cotton wood and Covered in buffalo leather.
-The scabbard has dubble frogs which are leather loops used to put it on your belt.
